ARRIVED HAMBURG, GERMANY

MARCH 13

LEFT HAMBURG, GERMANY FOR ENGLAND

  • The Krause family departed Hamburg, Germany, travelling on the steamer Marlebone [Marylebone] on March 13, for England prior to their boarding in Liverpool, England, on  the S. S. MONTCLARE leaving for Saint John, New Brunswick Canada, on March 16, 1928

NOTE: The steamer SS Marylebone, owned by the Great Central Railway, at one time sailed out of Grimsby to Hamburg and Rotterdam, with rail service from Grimsby to the Liverpool docks. The Hamburg-Grimsby passage would have taken only a few hours. As of 1926, the Marylebone was still in operation, sailing out of Grimsby.

[Perhaps Grimsby-Service]

Logic would  suggest that the Steamer Marylebone, then owned by the London and North Eastern Railway, would have arrived at an eastern port of the UK, perhaps at Grimsby, and the Krause family would then have travelled by train to Liverpool.
