KRAUSE --- Mrs. Maria, on Tuesday, April 2, 1991, at Leamington District Memorial Hospital. Maria (Meitz) Krause, born Tiegenhagen, Russia, formerly of Point Pelee, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Mr. F. William Krause (1983); beloved mother of of the late William H. Krause Jr. (1980); dear mother of Karl Rudy Krause and his wife Eleanor, Mersea Township. Also survived by daughter-in-law Annie Krause, London. Dear sister of Helen Neufeld, Leamington; Henry Kornelsen and his wife Mary, Leamington; 1 sister in Germany. Predeceased by 1 brother, Jacob Kornelsen (1948). Dear Grandmother of Eric Krause and his wife, Linda [Lynda], Cape Breton, N.S.; Bill Krause and his wife Margaret, Cottam; Patti Lynn Scott and her husband, Bob, Kingsville; Paul W. Krause and dear friend Marsha, Leamington; Kathy Krause, London; Lisa Batke and her husband Rob, Leamington; dear great grandmother of Alisa, Robert, Steven, Angela, Jeffery and Ryan. Resting at Reid funeral home, 14 Russell street, Leamington. Funeral service Thursday, April 4, 1 p.m., Rev. Edwin Epp officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial cemetery, Leamington. MRS. M. Krause dies at age 90.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Maria Krause, formerly of Point Pelee, who died April 2 at Leamington District Memorial Hospital. She was 90.
Born in Tiegenhagen, Russia, Mrs. Krause had resided in the Leamington area for many years and was one of the last permanent residents in Point Pelee National Park.
Her husband, F. William Krause, died in 1983.
Surviving are a son, Karl Rudy, of Mersea Township; two sisters, Helen Neufeld, of Leamington, and one sister in Germany; a brother, Henry Kornelsen, of Leamington; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, William H. Krause Jr., in 1980, and by a brother, Jacob Kornelsen, in 1948.
Rev. Edwin Epp officiated for the last rites at the Reid funeral home, Leamington, with interment in Evergreen Memorial cemetery.
