11 LDSS Grade 13 Students Earn First Class Honors
... LYNDA RICHARDS ... Grade 13 results announced Tuesday by
Principal J. N. Hume were limited to listing the names of 11 students
who achieved first class honors (over 75 per cent) . This was a
departure from the previous practice of listing the results of all
students who passed. School officials said they wanted to avoid the
possibility of embarrassing any student .... The other 10 students who had averages of 75
per cent or better on nine papers were as follows: .... Lynda Richards,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Richards, of RR 1, Leamington, 76.7 per
cent (7 firsts, 1 second, 1 credit). She will enter the University of
Windsor ....

Aunt Lydia
In my memory, Aunt Lydia (my dad's sister) was my most fun relative! It
seemed to me that when my grandmother, who lived winters with Aunt Lydia and
summers with us, came back and told stories of her winter, there was always
much laughter, fun and family times involved; I always wished I lived closer
to her so I could be part of it. I remember one time when she and Tom came
to visit our cottage, Aunt Lydia spied the rope swing and immediately hopped
on and asked us to give her a push! I think that's the way she approached
life - willingly and with a smile. My dad was the serious one, but when we
visited Aunt Lydia or she us, I saw a completely different side of him and I
think she had that effect on many people. She made me feel loved and
special.
