LAURA THOMAS
It is with heavy hearts that we've said goodbye to our beloved mother, Laura Thomas, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Adored mother of Michael and Talise and cherished daughter of Shirley Thomas, Laura will be dearly missed by her brother James Thomas, countless friends, and extended family members living around the world. Laura was born and raised in Windsor, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Windsor and trailblazing within her industry as one of few female engineers. Her adventurous spirit - balanced by her unwavering focus and sharp intellect - brought Laura to the United States to establish an engineering firm, which continues to reflect her pursuit of excellence. Outside of her professional pursuits, Laura's personal interests and talents were extensive: she had a strong aptitude for language learning, enjoyed playing the piano and singing, and had a contagious appreciation for music and culture. While we wish we had more time in her electric presence, we take comfort in knowing Laura is now reunited with her late father, Bill Thomas. We can all live out her legacy by optimistically working towards a better tomorrow, engaging in our own pursuits of lifelong learning, and loving one another unconditionally.
In her professional life, Laura was an engineering visionary with extraordinary drive, entrepreneurship experience, and vast intellect. Laura fell in love with controls design and programming, finding immense satisfaction in watching a machine run after being immersed in its design. She firmly believed that the best designs were developed using modern technologies and kept her team of engineers trained on the latest hardware and software releases. Under her leadership, Ambassador launched and grew into a forward-thinking, dynamic, specialized engineering firm that excelled in developing new efficiencies and solutions.
“Laura will be remembered as a generous, highly ethical, and assertive leader with a keen business sense,” said executive team member and daughter Talise. “Her vision of Ambassador as a customer service-focused and highly-specialized engineering firm set the foundation for what Ambassador has become today. She embodied the spirit of our company and will be deeply missed.”
Under a well-planned framework for the company’s continued success, Brian Msal, Director of Engineering, Daniel Robinson, Director of Operations, and Talise Beveridge, Financial Administrator, will continue their service on the company’s executive leadership team, ensuring that all day-to-day operations continue without interruption. Ambassador Controls continues its Texas-based operations with projects for leading manufacturers in the South and throughout the U.S. The dedicated team continues to perform exceptional work that its industry associates have come to expect.
