1974

31.  23 January 1974 - Block 17 -Lot B: De la Perelle Property

a) West and South Boundary Fences

i) piquets

- 7 pieds high

- 4-6 pouce diameter set 2 pieds in ground

- 8 pouce diameter spaced 8-10 pieds apart, set 3 pieds in ground

- no supporting braces unless necessary

- chisel points but not too regular

ii) ribband 

- 3 x 4 pouces

- located near the top

b) East Boundary Fence

i) Piquet - 6 pieds high

ii) constructed - like Rodrigue fence

c) Interior Fence (between yard and garden)

i) piquets 

- 5 pieds high

- 3-4 pouce diameter

- tops to be nearly flat and only generally even

ii) construction - similar to boundary fences

32.  7 & 8 February 1974 - Block 4: General Briefing

i) Quay side of Lots B and A to Delort building

- frame type fence to be studied

33. 12 February 1974 - Townsite: Block 17 - Duhaget Property

i) Temporary fences on concession lines

- piquets 6-7 pieds high

ii) West property line

- to bridge existing pavé

34. 7 & 8 March 1974 - Townsite: Block 17 - Fences

a) Lot "A" (Rodrigue and DeGannes)

- ribband: 

- nails to be driven from the ribband into the piquets

b) Lot "B" (De la Perelle)

- ribbands as designed are not too large when seen in relation to the fence as a whole

c) Lot "D" (Woodlot) - South, north and west fences

i) Large palisade fence - 6-8 pouce diameter

- roughly pointed

- 7 pieds high with up to 6 pouce variation in height

- buried 2 pieds 6 pouces

- spaced 1 pouce to 4 pouces apart

- corner posts 12 x 12 pouce, roughly squared

ii) ribband 

- 4 x 4 pouces

- one only

iii) possible provisional fence if above is not constructed:

- posts and 2 ribbands with:

- slabs or

- Boston boards or

- live sawn boards

35. 11 July 1974 - Landscaping Block 17

a) Lot "C" - Duhaget

- south fence 

- temporary historically looking fence with spaced posts

- north fence 

- to be designed to show it was not built at the same time as the gate

b) Lot "B" - De la Perelle Barn

- piquets 

- 4 pieds high

- ribband 

- sections to overlap one another

c) Lot "D" - Woodlot

- same design as Duhaget south fence

36. 11 & 12 September 1974 - Block 17: Landscaping

a) General - all fences to follow contours of land

b) Lot "C" 

 (i) North fence

- to be same as south fence on DeGannes property

ii) South boundary

- to be temporary fence
