24. 10 February 1972 - Townside, Block 17: Duhaget - Lot C
i) East boundary: solid piquet
ii) Other boundary: archaeological investigation required
iii) Internal Fences: - none required
25. 10 March 1972 - King's Bastion: Interior Terreplein Fencing
Recommendations:
i ) piquet type fence
ii) common piquets
- 4 - 6" diameter
- peeled
- local fir
- set 2' - 3' deep
- 2" space between piquets
iii) corner & intermediate piquets:
- 6" - 8"
- roughly squared
iv) braces:
- on most of the larger posts
- interior placement
- 6" diameter logs
- half-lapped near the top of post
- bottom buried in the ground
v) height:
- 7 pied (Hoad report suggests 4-7 pieds for fences)
vi) pyramid-type points:
- pointed with an axe
vii) ribband
- on top of piquet fence
- on interior side
- 2 x 4 pouce
- bandsaw notched in the post about 1" depending on the size of the piquet
- spiked in place
26. 1 May 1972 - King's Bastion: Interior Terreplein Fencing
i) size:
-2" to 3" not suitable to this type of fence
ii) spacing:
-should be no spacing other than that caused by normal configuration of piquets when placed loosely side by side
iii) pointing:
- pyramid style
- 4 sides
iv) major posts:
- 15 main posts
- posts to vary from 6" x 8" to 8" x 8"
- roughly squared
- no attempt to produce standard sizes of posts
