A group of North Shore residents severely beat Marc Riolet on the Royal Battery road.

Marc Riolet, "negotiant faisant de present en cette ville," complained going to the Royal Battery, One AM for Mass

  • Elie Thesson dit La Flourie left his house to say "satise" to plaintiff "avec des termes que la bien séance ne promet pas de reciter," approached with cane in his hand.

  • Riolet picked up a rock in each hand.

  • La Flourie retreated

  • Sent his son out with cane

  • Berrichon, son-in-law of La Flourie jumped on Riolet, beat him, pulled his hair.

  • Riolet kicked back

  • Two women joined in beating of him

  • Blames La Flourie as "auteur desdt maltreatment"

  • 300 livres in damages sought which he would give to the Sister of the Congregation of Notre Dame
