FOREWORD ~ MANUSCRIPT GROUP 23
Manuscript Group 23 represents late eighteenth century papers in the Public Archives of Canada. Some are original manuscripts and others are transcipts or microfilm copies.
Information of interest to the Louisbourg project has been reproduced on index cards, None of this material is on microfilm or photostat or xerox in the Louisbourg archives. Many of the index cards for this series were made during the summer of 1963 and so do not have the items of information reproduced verbatim. These can be distinguished from the later cards by the fact that if the material is reproduced verbatim, it is in quotes. This distinction remains true for all of the index cards in the Louisbourg archives.
Please note that no index cards are to be removed from the Louisbourg archives. They must not be defaced and are to be returned to their places in their proper order.
