OBITUARY
KORNELSEN, John Werner Jan. 29, 1943-Jan. 12, 2009
Passed away peacefully on January 12, surrounded by family.
John managed his valiant struggle with Parkinson's disease and cancer with extreme courage.
Beloved husband of Sherry (Coutts). Devoted father of daughter Andrea and son Drew. Loving son of the late Henry and Mary Kornelsen. Cherished brother of Herb and wife Clara, Margaret Gronski and husband Stan, Ruth Palmer, the late Marlene Dumouchelle and brother-in-law Ron and wife Anne Dumouchelle. Son-in-law of Gladys Coutts and the late Don Coutts, brother- in-law of Jana and Bob Crawford.
Loved and sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.
John was a Certified General Accountant and until his illness was controller of Windsor Raceway. He will be remembered for his passion for hockey and golf and his selflessness in helping others. He instilled in his family the values of a positive attitude and optimism, which will be a lasting tribute to him. A special thank you to the staff of Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital ER and ICU, to staff at CCAC especially our angels Sandy and Serena. Donations to the Parkinson's Foundation or to Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place.
