Petition to Ainslie, 1818: Petitioner has built a wharf and store on a lot adjoining Mr. Stout's and has built a swelling house fronting on Dorchester Street. He asks a grant of these lots. Petition to Ainslie: Petitioner, a captain in the army, has lived the past two years in Cape Breton and has held several civil offices under government. He asks a town lot in Sydney, bounded by Dorchester, George Pitt, and South Charlotte Streets. Report of Crawley to Crowdy: Six acres in the Town of Sydney. Plan. A second petition shows that the lot was purchased from Mr. Dumaresq, and contains a house and barn.

Richard Gibbons
Cape Breton number: 36 Microfilm: 15788 1802 Gibbons, Richard Report of Storey to McKinnon: 1000 acres on the north shore of the River Mira. Campbell states that the lot petitioned for is part of the Miray Grant, lately escheated, and the town lots petitioned for in the town of Sydney. He authorizes letters patent.
Cape Breton number: 137 Microfilm: 15788 1804 Gibbons, Richard Petition to Despard: Petitioner, son of the late Chief Justice Gibbons, was one of the proprietors of the Miree Grant, which has been escheated. He asks 1000 acres adjoining the land of William Despard. Note: complied with, and town lots included.

Report of Crawley to Nepean: 4500 acres of land on the St. Peter's Road, above the second forks of the south-west branch of Sydney River; also a lot between lands granted to John Storey and William Brown; also one town lot in Sydney, No. 31, Block E. Two plans.
Cape Breton number: 2352 Microfilm: 15797 1820 Gibbons, Richard Petition to Stewart: Petitioner receives a lease of water block X, Town of Sydney, during the administration of Gen. Nepean. He tells of the manner in which original leases were transferred to a public reservation, and this reservation parceled out to individuals to the detriment of the original settlers. He asks that his title be secured. The first petition of June was deferred until the arrival of Sir James Kempt. A second petition of August was granted. Report of Crawley to Crowdy: Block X, south end of the Town of Sydney, one and one half acres. Plan.

Cape Breton number: 2168 Microfilm: 15796 1819 Leonard, Charles Edward Petition to Fitzherbert, 1816: Petitioner has lived six years in Cape Breton and has drawn one town lot. He asks one of the lots under Government House Hill. Report of Crawley to Crowdy: Lot 8, five acres, Hard Wood Hill, to be called "Morvaren". Petition to Ainslie states that he was born in New Brunswick.
1820 Leonard, Charles Edward Petition to Stewart: Petitioner, a native of New Brunswick, has been ten years in Cape Breton, surveyor and Searcher of the Customs. He has received two small lots in Sydney, and now asks 500 acres on Lake Ainslie. Report of Crawley to Crowdy: 500 acres on the west side of the south end of Lake Ainslie. Plan.

Cape Breton number: 631 Microfilm: 15790 1810 Perry, Mary (Miss) Reeport of Crawley to McKinnon: All the vacant lots in North Block I, running from South Charlotte Street to Bentinck Street, and from Wentworth to Falmouth Streets. Two copies of this report, and two plans. One plan shows a corner of the block allotted to George Gaudin, the other shows the whole block to Mary Perry.

He purchased a house in Blemmingtown, southern block Q, formerly belonging to Thomas Davis, adjoining the block granted to William Plant, Jr. & Brothers. He asks a grant. Cape Breton number: 268 Microfilm: 15789 1806 Sellon, Andrew Petition to Despard: Petitioner came to Cape Breton two years before. He asks lot 28 on the east shore of Sydney River, and the two-acre lot, No. 18, in the rear of the Town of Sydney. Note: "May have the two-acre lot and liberty to prosecute an escheat."
1820 Sellon, Andrew Petition to Stewart: Petitioner, a native of Nova Scotia, is a widower with seven children. He had lived sixteen years in Cape Breton. He asks lot 6 in the rear of the Town of Sydney. Report of Crawley to Crowdy: a lot fronting on Dorchester Street. Plan
Cape Breton number: 2791 Microfilm: 15798 1821 Sellon, Andrew Petition to Swayne, 1815. Petitioner, age 35, was born in Halifax, has lived eleven years in Cape Breton, has a wife and seven children. His house was found to be on government land and was removed to build fortifications. Petitioner bought the house from Mr. Dodd, who in turn bought it of Capt. Cox. Warrant to Crawley: the two - acres lot, No. 4, in the rear of the Town of Sydney which he now holds under licence of occupation; also the two - acre lot No. 6 near the former, for which he received a warrant from the late government of Cape Breton. 1821.

Cape Breton number: 770 Microfilm: 15791 1811 Taitt, David Petition to Nepean: Petitioner received from Mrs. Ann Peters and her son, Henry Moore Peters, a bill of sale for land and dwelling on the south side of the Miré River, in satisfaction of a debt. He received possession in 1800. He asks a title to this land and to block 2 in the Town of Sydney (1803). Report of Crawley to Clarke: To the Hon. David Taitt, 200 feet square in Block K, Sydney. Report to Crawley to Crowdy: Government Field in Sydney, the site of the old government house and gardens, 5 acres, reserving the space occupied b the Court House and yard, and part of the market house and pound. Cape Breton number: 3295 Microfilm: 15800 1831 Crawley, Henry William Two petitions to Maitland: Petitioner is a native of England, age 36, is married and has three children. He is a resident of Sydney where he owns a town lot by purchase. He received fro the crown a forest lot, but no town lot. He asks: 1s.t. the escheat of the school field, and a part thereof; 2nd. two water lots in front of his residence. Note: the School Field is the site of the old Government House and Gardens, granted to Edward Potts or to trustees for a school.
