20.27.9 Bust of young man painted on paper 3/4 left. No background. Light brown hair brushed forward, blue eyes. High white stock, white shirt and vest. High collared blue coat with white buttons. Written in ink on back: "Painted by JE Acres, Oct. 1826, Halifax, N. S." see Bolton, E. A. Portrait Painters in Miniature for Listing on John Edward Acres w.1815-1826. Dimensions 4 1/4" x 3 5/8" We purchased it in Rockland, MA in 1942.
