My Chief motive for writing this, I am much distressed and fearful of treachery however, I trust to providence I find the yellow fever prevailing and may prove fatal I leave at my death all my property to my Wife Sarah Sparrow /____/ Samuel Sparrow. / ~ 28th Dec. 1803 On which day appeared personally Broome Phillips Witts of Friday Street in the Parish of S Margarets quoses London gentleman and Thomas Russell of London Road in the Parish of St Georges Southwark in the County of Surry Gentleman and jointly and severally made Oath that they knew and were well acquainted with Samuel Sparrow formerly of South Lambert in the County of Surry and late of Shadds Place Peckham in the Parish of St Giles Camberwell in the same County but in America deceased for many years before and to the time of his death and during such times have frequently seen him write and write and subscribe his name to writing and are Hereby being well acquainted with his manner and character of hand writing and subscription and having now carefully viewed and inspected the paper writing hereunto annexed purporting to be the last will and testament and testament of the said deceased the said will being in the Words following to Wit South Carolina July 7th 1799 my Chief motive for Writing this I am 30 much Distressed and fearful of treachery however I must trust to providence I find the yellow fever prevailing and may prove fatal I leave at my death all my property to my wife Sarah Sparrow and thus subscribed Samuel Sparrow which the Deponents say they verily and in their conscience believe the whole body devise and contents of the said will and the named Saml Sparrow subscribed Hereunto as aforesaid to be of the proper handwriting and subscription of the said Samuel Sparrow the testator deceased /____/ Broome P Wilte /___/ Tho. To our truly and well beloved John Edward Acres Administrator of the right good Chattles and Estate of Samuel Sparrow late of the Island of Cape Breton [Greeting?] |

Whereas the said Samuel Sparrow has as alleged died having whilst living and at the time of his death Goods Chattles and Credits in the Island aforesaid by raison where of the [sole?] owning and Granting Administrator of all and Singular the said Goods and Chattles & Credits and also the Auditing and allowing and finally discharging the Accounts these are well Known to appertain wholy to us, and we bring [desirous?] that the said Goods and Chattles and Credits may be well and faithfully Administered [applied?] and disposed of according to Law. To therefore by these presents grant full power and Authority to you the said John Edward Acres in whose fidelity we confide to administer and fully dispose of the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased and to ask demand recover and Receive whatever debts and Credits which whilst living and at the time of his death did any way belong to his Estate and to pay whatever debts the said deceased at the time of his death did owe so far as the said Goods and Chattles and Credits will thereunto Contend and the law requires you, bring first Sworn will and and [sic] faithfully to administer the same and to make a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased and to Exhibit the same unto the Register of said Court of Probated Wills on or before the Eleventh day of January next ensuing and to also to render a true and just Account thereof on or before the Eleventh day of January which shall be in the year One thousand Eight hundred and Seventeen And We do by Virtue of these presents Certain and definite you the said John Edward Acres Administrator of all and Singular the Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased ________________ _______ ______ |
