Return to the Samuel Sparrow Home Page
TRANSCRIBED DOCUMENTS
Sir South Lambeth Sepre 6th 1792
I should have done myself the Honor of paying my Respects to you upon your Arrival from the West Indies, as early as your most Sanquine Friends, but was prevented by my absence in yr Country.
My time was occupied some time since with giving the Com:rs for Auditing Accounts, what Information I was able respecting Mr. Des Barres concerns, which I did with a Strict Attention to Truth, But the events with regard to these Amounts &ca, I am Ignorant of, not having heard any thing from that Office for a long space.
Permit me Sir, to offer to your memory the Conversation you honored me with just before your departure, and which I need not repeat --- I remain in Status quo, which is very unpleasant, as my Spirit is adapted to much more activity
I have the Honor to be
Your most Devoted &
most Humble servt
[signed] Saml. Sparrow
Evan Nepean Esq.
Letter from Samuel Sparrow telling Evan Nepean [Under-Secretary] that he had given truthful information to the Commissioners for Auditing Accounts in respect of Joseph Frederick Wallet Des Barres [former governor of Cape Breton], but had heard nothing for a long time.
