Sparrow having charged Gov D with making out fictitious Acct of Sundry Goods, charged to Govt to the amount of ____ which he said never existed, and of course could not be delivered ---- See Minute of 7 June 1790 ------------
An Error in the Accot Seems to arise from the Charge of 195 for Indian Meal, which in fact was only £26.5. _, and in the addition so that sum of £159.10. __ ought to be added from the articles of Oxen, Boards, Cows, Calves, and Sheep, which actually delivered, and make up the amount of the Bill drawn on Govt for £493.2.5.
These Articles were deducted from the general account by Sparrow himself, under an order that the Articles chargeable to government should be separated from those which belonged to Desbarres private account __ So that nothing appears to be fictitious, but the whole a very fair charge __ with this Desbarres has no concern, and Sparrow must have founded his Charge on the Mistake of the Quantity of Indian Meal, though he asserted not the whole account, amounting to the above sum of £493.2.5, was fictitious and a Bill drawn for the same on Govt
