Letter from James Murray to DesBarres regarding Archer and Recommending him for favours

I am very glad you have got Archer he is very honest, Industrious Inganeous Man and youll find him a valuable acquisition. I wish you would apply to the Duke of Richmond to [put?] him upon the Establishment with you, of if that cannot be done for him, that he may have half [pay?] or some allowance to equip his family for the voyage [etc.?] The Mans Services certainly mind attention; If I contribute in any shape to promote his welfare by application to His Grace I will not chearfully do it [crossed out] or you make use of this letter to certify my Opinion of the Man. Any protection or favor you may Show him will very much oblige.
