Sailed in the good ship Blenheim Kitson Master from the Downs the 4th of October 1784 and arrived in Louisbourgh Harbour in the Isle of Cape Breton the 5th. November following all well - N.B. This month we sailed from Louisbourgh and arrived at our destination at Spanish River Cape Breton in the same month of November and landed the settlers and the Stores and encamped ourselves in the Woods with temporary huts for the winter. The Hermione Frigate came from Halifax to assist our landing the Stores during a heavy snow storm.
Mr. Perry and the principal Officers of the New Government who came out in the Blenheim wintered at the Coal Mines in Spanish River. I wintered in the woods at Point Edward where the Stores were landed - very cold.
