FOR THE BIRDS
November 1990
By

Its bird feeder time. Already the blue jays, chickadees and pine grosbeaks are looking for a handout.
Jackie Williams, at the east end of Main Street, had a large flock of robins eating the berries from his mountain ash ( dogberry ) on October 19. We received a call from Cliff Peck, on Riverdale, late in the afternoon of October 20, after the windstorm. On arriving at Cliff's house we saw a flock of more than 30 robins eating the berries from his dogberry bushes. They were very vocal and in constant motion. Amid this group were a couple of immature waxwings, sharing the berries. Thanks for the sightings
