FOR THE BIRDS
December 1991
By
Helen O'Shea
Gwenn Lunn telephoned in November to say that, "a Baltimore Oriole in fall plumage flew in to see what the Blue Jays were doing at my new feeder." Later, Gwen told me that she had also seen a Downy Wood Pecker. I had 3 Gold Crowned Kinglets, 6 female Purple Finches and 1 male Purple Finch at my feeders. Susann Myers reports a female Goldfinch. Wardens Doug Pearl and Chief Park Warden Sandy McLain have seen a Snowy Owl.
Please telephone me if you want to report any sightings.
