FOR THE BIRDS

December 1990

By

Helen O'Shea

In spite of the warm and wet weather of late many birds are coming to feeders. There are Siskins, American Gold Finch, Evening Grosbeaks, Slate-coloured Juncoes, Song Sparrows, White-throated Sparrows, Mourning Doves, Black-capped Chickadees, Nuthatches, Purple Finche and the ever present Blue Jays. Don't stop feeding because the weather warms up a bit. The birds get used to feeders and expect to find something to eat when they arrive. If you have any interesting sightings call Helen O'Shea.

Roger Tory Peterson's A Field Guide to the Birds of Eastern a Central North America is a must. You can find it Coles.
