SIGNS of SPRING - Apart from a harbour packed with ice April 1991
Gwen Lunn reported the first Fox Sparrow of the season in her yard on Easter Sunday. By April lst the birds of spring had arrived. I had 5 Fox Sparrows and 2 Song Sparrows at my feeders and 2 Grackles the same day. Five Robins were spotted on Richard Cross' lawn on Huntington Avenue.
Ernie Lahey says that he puts his hummingbird feeders out in April, since the little fellows have arrived in this early in past years.
