OVERVIEW
The Louisbourg Institute (INSTITUTE) is a University College of Cape Breton (UCCB) faculty initiated institute and adheres to UCCB's policy on the establishment of institutes and centres.

MANDATE
The INSTITUTE promises to adhere to the following principles:

ORGANIZATION
The Co-Chairs are Dr. Carol Corbin (UCCB) and Mr. Berton [Sandy] A. Balcom (FORTRESS). Remaining board members are Mr. Mike Hunter (UCCB), and Mr. Gerard MacKinnon (UCCB). The Co-Chairs keep John Harker (President of UCCB) and Ms. Carol Whitfield (Field Unit Superintendent, Cape Breton - Parks Canada Agency) current, on a regular basis, of all Institute activity. Members of the Board are volunteers and operate without the financial support of either the UCCB or the FORTRESS. Research Associates of the Louisbourg Institute include Mr. Peyton Chisholm, Dr. Lon Dubinsky, Dr. Bruce Fry, and Mr. Eric Krause. Several other research associate memberships are pending.
