Canada The Administration Of Justice At The Fortress Of Louisbourg (1713-1758) Ordonnateur's Personal Secretary The ordonnateur's personal secretary functioned as his right-hand man. The ordonnateur was granted 600 livres per year for a secretary who was occasionally called a clerk. Although little is known about the specific responsibilities of the secretary, the position was most significant for most of its occupants went on to critical positions within the administration. Four key officials in Louisbourg's lower civil administration - Louis Levasseur, Jacques Rondeau, Jean-Baptiste Morin, and Jean LaBorde - began their careers as either secretary to the Intendant of Quebec or at Louisbourg.
