DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY: 1750s land divided into small farms and
leased by La Borde
OTHER INFORMATION:
1750s - La Borde leased parts of his property to:
1. Pierre Cousteau - small "desert", garden and
livestock
2. François Gouret - "desert" and clearing to
sow a "quart" of oats
3. François Chalot - "desert" and 3 arpents
clearing for sowing all kinds of grain
4. Jacques Guilant - "desert" and a clearing
large enough to sow a "barrique de bled"
5. 1752 - Jacques Chemin dit La Ramée rented
for 150 livres a year. Habitation already
in place, including animals. Agreement to
run from Oct. 1754 to Sept. 1755. Agreed
to clear an arpent of land a year at his
own expense.
