Report MRS 60)
INTRODUCTION AND ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
The present report was undertaken with the intention of describing and locating the properties and houses in the Dauphin fauxbourg The report was to rely heavily on maps and plans. Unfortunately, it has been impossible to relate the documentary evidence and the historical plans of the fauxbourg satisfactorily Nevertheless, the study has revealed many interesting facts about the area, the structures, and the inhabitants.
Several interesting features, not directly concerned with the properties, were discovered in the course of research, and they have been included in Part I
Part II is a detailed history of each concession, including, wherever possible, a description of the buildings on each lot
I would like to thank everyone concerned with the preparation of this report: in particular, Miss Elizabeth Morrison, the typist; Mrs. Margaret MacMullin, who reproduced and assembled the maps and plans; Miss Jeannette Chiasson, who checked and proofread the footnotes and prepared the alphabetical index of names; and Mr. John Dunn, who read the manuscript and made many helpful suggestions.
