PREFACE
Property Studies: Historical Report - Streets. No. II is a definitive study of the urban history of Louisbourg, particularly streets, in the three significant periods with which we are concerned of Louisbourg's develoment. It is based on studies which were carried out in the summer of 1964, and for a short period in the summer of 1965.
The purpose of the study was threefold:
To provide the project with a concise review of the town of Louisbourg at large;
To give direction to the archaeologists and, indirectly, the engineers in their joint involvement with the streets of old Louisbourg;
Thirdly, to give the Interpretation Section the information it requires to interpret the town to the public.
B. C. Bickerton
Senior Historian.
