                            all the orders Given out by ye Commanding 
                            offecers from point Shirley to Louisbourg, 
                            from apriel to ye End of December.

                                                            Apriel - 17 - AD 1759

The                                    orders.
17 that a Commisiens offecears Guard mount to morow to consist of one Sarnt and one Corpll and 31 privts and Capt Whippel is ye offecer of ye day to morrow and ye Sentniels to be planted by him, a nother gaurd of one Sarnt and 12 men and one Corpol to mount To morrow at the head of the Beach, that Leads of to Chelchey. The Sarnt is to Receive his orders from ye offecer of the day who is to porst proper Centreys to prevent ye Solders from Stragling. No Solder is a Loued to Sell rum wine or any Lickquors arfter to morrow at twelve of ye clock. 

If these orders be not Complyed with, what Liquors are found will be taken from theme and they So offending Shall be Confined and Tryed by a Court-marshal for disobedence of orders. No Commisnor Nor non Commisnor or Solder to go from the point Without Ieave from the Commanding offecer, the Roals of Each Company to be Called 3 times Each day, a Commisnor to attend and to make Return of ye absent men. And if any Solder is absent at roal Calling he shall be returned as a desarter to ye Capt Genral. And all Boats that Come to wharf to be reported to ye Capt of ye day, and no Boats to Go from ye Warf or any orther part of ye point Without acquanting the offecer of the Guard. A Sarint and Six men for to patroal arfter 8 of ye Cloack in Eveing till teen of ye clock and to Clear all ye houses that are apropated for Barricks And to See all ye firs put out and to Sufer no Noys. 

And all Solders that Shall Bread any knoys or Disturbence to be Imedately Confined and Reported. 

All Garuds to be dune by Deteachment. The Commanding offecers of Compnays to tell the men to keep their Barricks Clean and that they Do no Damige to the houses. For what Ever dameige is dune Shall be payed by theme that keep in ye room or rooms wherein it is dune. The men to be mest 6 men in a mes, Returns to be made out for their provisons. A Commisoner to attend the Comsry that Delevers it out and See they have their weight. All orders Relaiting to ye Solders to be Read at morning roal Calling. The Commanding offecer Expects those orders to be puntcly Complyed with and Leut Baker is apointed adjnt till further orders. The Billiting roal & wekly return to be made out Imedetly -----------------------------

Proal Sr william Pitt 

It is The Capt Genrals orders that as Soon as the men arive at the place of Randervouse that they be drafted into Compnys and that the Commanding offecers of Compnys See that Each man be E quipt with a Coatt,, wescoat and Bricheas Sutabel for the Campain. Also three Good Shirts two Good pair of Shoouse, and tow Good pair of Stockings. and a hatt. Also to See the Blankets and Camp hateats & be Distribeted a Greabel to order of Court. 

Those offecers who have hired Carridges or vesals to Transport the men to the place of randevouze are to make out their accounts and Send themi to the Commesry-genral for payment ------------------

Regimentall orders. 

The Commanding offecer Expects their will be a full Complyance with the a bove orders, as Soon as may be in Regard to what ye men may be furnished with. Nesearey, Roals Muster to be made out as Soon as posabel. So that those men Who are woanting In any artickels may be furnished before they Imbark. 

For a form of a Nesseary Roal apply to Capt Whippel. The houses appointed for offecers Quorters are Numbered from No 1 to No 10, the Commanding offecers of Compnays to attend at Capt Bennets at one of ye Cloak to draw For them. A Sarjent & Six men to attend of a Compnay, Every morning Leut Tuckerman for Wood & is to bring a Return with him of the Number of men he hath as ye Spot Belongin to ye Compnay. 

And Leut Tuckerman is ordered to deleiver out to theme as much Wood as is Nesseary for Cooking of their provisons. The Comanding offecers of Compnays are to wisiet the Barricks three or foure tomes Each day and See that ye men keep theme-Sevels Clean, and boil their victels well and not Suffear any Solder to broyl his poark. It is also Recommended for the offecers to for bid all Gaimning, as it Intends to Breading disputes and Quorales amoung the men, that they acquant ye men of it at Roal-Calling. The offecer of ye Gard to make his Repoart to ye Capt of ye day. 

Likewise the Sarjt of the Beach gaurd, and ye Capt of ye day to put Borth on one papear, and to make Report to ye Comanding offecer -------------------------

The Commanding offecers to make a Repoart of the men they Intend for Sarints and Corpols & Drumbs of Each Compnay. None Will be Exceped as Such but those that are Clean Good men that Can Rite. 

If any woman Inclines to Go with their Husbands none Will [be] admited to Go But those who Can prove their marriage, and are of a Good Charecter and no more than Six will be a Louded to a Compnay ------- ------- ------

Capt George offecer of the day to morrow, Leut. moody for Gard to morrow, arfter orders, the offecer of ye Gard to take Care & not Suffer but two men to go from his Gard at a time Except those on Senteyr and they not to tarey but half an hour from the Gard. 

And the offecer to Wiset ye Senterys and See if they have their proper order twice a day. A Return of the Seaman on the Spott of Each Compnay & those that have been Delived at ye Carsel to be given in by to tomorrow 10 of ye Cloack to Send to ye Capt_Genral.

Proal Amherst. The Commanding offecers of Compnays to prade their men at three of ye Clock this arfter noon and march them to their Barricks. 

And when they have drawn their men up the offecrs To See that they have their Barricks Clean they Came out of. 

And as Soon as any more Compnays arive Leut Tuckerman will Direct theme to the Barricks that was Drawn for theme. The offecers to Give Strict orders to them at Roal Calling that thay dont Ease theme Seleves near ye Barricks but go down to ye Beach Near ye worter. Any Solder that disobays thes orders Shall be Sevearly punished. Leut Tuckerman is to Delever of the Commanding officers of the Compnays Seventey five Napsacks takeing Reseats for the Same. No offecer is to give Leave to more then five men of a Compny to go to Boston at a time and they to have a Riten permit and are not to tarey a bove twentey four hours. 

When they return Waite on their offeirs and return their premits.

Alphiblt Lists & Billiting Roal to be made out Imedataly and the men to be properly formed into messes Six men in a mess. No men to Sell any Kind of Licquers to any of the Troops Except the pepol belongin to ye point. 

No parsons to Sell Slops to the troops at an Extrodnary Rate. The price the offecer of the day is to Inquire into and Setel. What Ever parson Shall presume to be Giltey of Breach of orders may Expect to be delat With according to the Natuer of their offence ----- ---- ----- ---------

No offecer nor Solder to leave the point without Leave from the Commanding offecer. The Commanding offecers of Each Compnay See that their is voolts dug & fixed for the peopel.

The Comanding offecers of Compnays to See their men Equipt with heave Sacks Blankets and other things Given by The provence & give in a Return to Leut Tuckernan. The offecers To prade their Compnays twice Each day. Their men to Sling their packs Every time they meet and the offecers to Larn them To march and weal. Till furnished with arms no offecer nor Solder to go of the point Till they are mustered. And as it is Expected that his Excencly Governor pownal will be hear to morrow to Veue the Regiment ye Comanding offecers are to See their men haest hats and to See that None wear trowzers, None to wear Caps when praded. 

The offecers to See their men and take grate Care that men are Keept clean & alpibatical Roals are to be made out of Each Compnay. 

The offecer of ye Gard to order the Corpls not to let any of ye Senterys Stand with fixt baonets and not to sufearr any of their Senterys to Soat down on their post and their not with their Blankets nor with trouzers. Tho ordly Corpls of Each Compnay to prade their men Before their barracks Before they march to ye Regimentall Prade and take Car not to prade any man on dutey ------ ------ ------

But what is Clean. Ye ordly Shall be accountabel for any man that is found giltey of breach of these orders. The ordly is not to Depart till the gard is march off, the troop is to beet at nine In ye morning. All Solders are to turn out on their prade to Roal Calling. A Commons offer to attend Roal Calling Every days.

A Sarjt and four men of Each Compnay is to prade at 10 of ye Cloack and to apply to the offecer of ye Gard for Spads and Shovels to Digg Voults for Nesary houses in Some Conveinant place at a proper Distance from ye Barricks. A return of Sarjts and Corpls of Each Compnay to be given into the ajdgent. All are to be reard to the Solders relaiting to their Compnays at Roal Calling. The Comanding offecers of Compnays to Speseay in their provison Return the number they have Sick in their Compnays in order that they may draw fresh provisons In ye room of Salt. The arms to be Deliverd out to ye men as Soon as posabel. Ye Capt to take Care and not Deliver arms out But to them that will pass muster. They Tallest and largest men to have them with bagnots. The Compnays to Be Equipt with all accuterments and prade to morrow morning at nine of ye Clock, on ye Lines Back of ye Barricks with heavey Sacks on, and blankets at their Backs and thir Cantteens Slung and returns to be Given in to the Commanding offr and ye deficences of Blanket and all other artkells of Each Compnay that is wanting. Ye Commandg offecer orders that no man that appears under armes with Grate Coats nor trowzers on and that ye Compnays are out twice a day at Execirs and the Comison offecers attend and devide them into Squads that ye men may Larn ye Suoner. All non Commisions offecers and Solders when Ever they pass by or Spake with a Comm offecer to pull off their hats and when Speiking to and offecer to Stand with it off; the ordly Corpls of Compnays to make Reports to the Surgen of the number Sick in their Compnays with their man names Every morning. All orders Relaiting to ye Surgen To Be Shone to him by ye Sarjent masjor and all orders Relaiting to ye men to be read to them by a Comisn offecer of a Compnay. 

And whear as their is a number of Solders drunk every day the Commanding offecer Expets that ye Commison offers of Compnays will Confine all Solders they find drunk & their Compnays In order that they may find out whear they git ye Licquor So that ye parssons who sells it may be punished for Disobedence of orders ------ ------ ------

Proal Albeny. Whear as the Commanding offecer Expects the Regiment will be Rewiued on Sattorday or Sunday by Colln Burtten he hopes the offers will do their uttermost Endevers and Have all their Roals Compleated in Good order as posabel. 

The offeers to acquant their men that if any man if found fireing his Gun without Leave from the Commanding offecer he Shall be Confined and tryed by a Court marshal for disobedence of orders, that the offecers take Grate Car that the Wood that is Received for their Compnay be not wasted, the Ensign Lord is to act as adgient till further orders and is to be obayed as Such. 

The Sarjts and Corpls of Compnays Endever to Larn ye Excersise as Soon as posable and Keep theme Selves Clean and neet or they Shall be redused to Sarve In the Ranks as privets.

Proal Rugels. [Officer] for the day to morrow Capt Hannars. For Gard to morrow Ensin Woodbeary. That no offer non Commison offer or Solder do prsume to Leave this point Ethear by leave or without Leave from ye Commanding offer as they will answor a Breach of Repeted orders in So doing. All former orders to be Complyed with.

Proal Louisbourg. The Centearys on ye Wharf be put Lower down and not to Suffear any Boat to go off Till ye Sarint of ye gard hath Sarched hir and if he finds any Soldr on board any Boat that is going away without Leave from ye Commanding offecer He is to Confine him and Report him to ye offer of the Gard who Shall make Report to ye Commanding offer. A Corpral and Eight men to prade at 3 of ye Cloack to mount gard to ye North North point behind ye barricks and to Keep good Centerys. A weakly Return of Each Compnay to be given to ye ajgent Every morning. [Officer] for the day to morrow Capt Blake For Gard to morrow Engn Barrel.

Proal Succss. Whear as the orders Given out ye 17 of aprl Larst hast not been Complyed with in Regard of a Sarjts padroals in the Evening arfter 8 Clock from ye Gard, ye Command offer Expects that ye orders will be Complyed with and that at teen a Clok the offer of ye Gard goes the visieting Rounds and visiets all the Centrys and the Sarjts Gard on the Beach and make ye Sarjnt turn out his gard to him and Receive him in a proal mannear. 

And if he finds any Extrodrneys hast Happned he is to make Report to ye Capt of ye day who is to Report it to ye Commaad offer at twelve of ye Cloak. Ye Capt of ye day is to take a Serjnt and five men from ye Gard and go the Grand Rounds he to make all gards turn out to him and Receive him in a proal mannear. The Regiment to be under arms to morrow at nine of ye Cloak on ye Back of ye Barricks. Ye gard not to be Releved untill ye Regiment is dismised. 

Whare as their is a Grate Cunsumasion of wood the offers of Compnays are to take Care that ye men wast none of their wood, and that as Soon as they have dun Cooking the fiers be put out Except whear they are Sick. Whear as it is absuleat neseary the Barricks and Rooms wheare the Sick men are Should be viseted by a Commisin offr the Commanding offer orders that a Subelton visets ye Barricks Every day about Eleven a Cloak and make Report in Riteing to the Commadg  offr How he finds them. In Case he finds them dirtey or not In So Good order as they might be he is to acquant ye men that arfter ye forth time they are found So they Shall be Confined unless they give Reasonabel account. 

And in order to prevent any ye Sarjts of Compnays to wate on Leut Tuckerman for two Broomes for Each Compn-y. Thus dutey the agnet to keep a proper Roal of and Shall be allowed on ye Roal as a Gard,

Proal Union NB. Unless ye offrs are Renewed the men will not Receive any Back allowence. If they wornt [it] weakley they murst Return theme Selves or Loos it. A Return of the Several Compnays arms that Wornt mending and are unfitt for Service to be given in as Soon as posabel in order they may be fitted and in this Return they are to Distongwish those that found their one and thoes that Received of their Capt. -------------- t has been Reported to the Comanding offecer that ye non Commision offers and privets Bye and Sell their Cloaths among on nothear. It is the Commandings offecers order that if any non Commisn offer or Solder Shall offer or Shall Sell n any of his Cloaths & parson with out leeve from his Capt Shall be tryed by a Court marshel and be Sevearly punished besids returning the things they have bought and Loosing ye money they gave for them. Ye Commndg offecer desiers ye Capt that they would remind it to ye Sarjts and Corpls of Each Compnay that they would provide theme Selvs With Blew Coats and Laset hats and the Corpols to have yallow Knots on their Shouldrs and ye drumbs green Coats and also to use their utmost Endevers to preswead the privets of their Compnys to git blew Coats that their may be Some uniform a mong the men and appear like Solders. The Comsseary hast a number of Coats Ready mead Suteabel for ye privets. A Regimental Court marshal to be hidl Emedately to try Joseph Stone of Capt hannars Compnay.

Orders that the Compnays prade Emeadeatly with their arms and Blankets Canteens Slung In order be reved by Coll Burtten who is to pass ye men, Further orders that ye offrs desmiss ther men and Let them go to their Barricks. A return to be given in Emedately of the Sick in Each a Compnay. The main gard to mount as useal.

Proal Embark. Orders that ye Capt make return Emeadatly of blankets and Cantteens wornting & Equipt ye men going on board.

Orders that all Well men on the point prade this morning at nine of the Cloak with Every Euetensell. That the Beads Except what the Sick men Lies on are to be returned into ye Stoers Emeadtly. The Sick men of Every Compnay to be put in a room by them Selves. 

Arfter orders. It is Coll Baglys orders to ye Commanding offecers on board ye transports that they Strectly Complye with the orders given them by Colle Burtten and that they by no meens Leve the vesals without Leve, and that as Soon as posabel they make a return of all ye men they have Receved of the melasshue Colls and Where they are, and fill up all ye Collomes in their Return according to their Numbers. For a form of this Return applye to mr Lord ajdnt who will give the Capt or Commanding offers of Compnays in orders that they may be made out Emedatly. As Soon as Coll Burtten hath payed of ye foure peny roals ye two peny Roals of Each Compnay to be given in to major Gouldweight To be payed off ------- ------- ------ ------ -------

Louisbourg Harbyer on board ye argllj.

Transport, Regimental orders may 23th 1759 and an offecir gard to mount on board Each transport and no offecer nor Solder to go on Shore on any pretence whatever without Leve from Colle Bagly The Commanding offecirs onboard Each transport to order all ye Beads ye Solders have made wes of to be brought upon deck and aired and take an account of ye number In order that they may have them in Redness to be Deliverd whear ordered. Allso to order the men to Clean ye Berthes whear in they have Loged. The Commanding offers of Compnays to See that Each man of their Compnays are shaved their hats Cockt Shoees Bluckd and Clean Shirted and their arms Clean and accuterments properly Slung in order to be in Redness to Go on Shore when ordered. No man to have trowsers on for ye futter unless on board Ship. A Return to be sent as Soon as posabel to the majsor on board ye argile transport of ye number of Commisonrs offecers Sarjts Rank and file and drums their is on board Each Transport and the Compnays they Belong to Speficing those fitt for dutey and thoes Sick. Allso ye names of thoes that are Seamen on board Belongin to their Compnays which are to be Included in the abvoe Return and their names Sent on a Seprate paper. 

As the Regiment is going to joyn Sume of his majestes reguler Troops and ye Honnear of ye Regiment greatley depends on the offecers Exceriseing them Selves and Compnays with all orders they Receve, the Commanding offr Expects that nothing Will be wornting on their parts to do honnor to ye Regiment and ye Compnays They Belong to and ye Commisions they Wear. 

If any Solder hast Brought any Beds from point Shirly they are to be Sent onboard the argile Ship. Otherwise the Capt of Compnays must be accountabel for them ----- ------ ------ ------ -------
