Special Events

At Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site you can explore the amazing worlds of a life time that has touched all of us. Discover how air and water captured Dr. Bell 's imagination and find out how he bridged the world between sound and silence. Participate in experiment, kite-making and kite flying programs and enjoy hands-on activities designed especially for children. Join us for our special event days:

Canada Day - July Ist: Include the Bell Museum in your plans on Canada's birthday, a national holiday. Then enjoy the fun from dawn 'til dusk in the village of Baddeck just moments from the museum.

Aviation Day - an annual event held the third Sunday of August: Join us for afternoon festivities and celebrate the flight of the Silver Dart airplane, an aviation first for Alexander Graham Bell. Kite-making, entertainment, cake, punch like the Bells made for special occasions and more, await your visit!

Harvest Home - an annual event held the third Saturday of September: Welcome autumn in the style of the early 1900's at our annual Harvest Home modelled after the fall picnic the Bell's held at their Baddeck home. Enjoy children's entertainment, gigantic bubble-making, face-painting, a marching band, games including three-legged race, potato race and sack race, and more.

Enjoy regular programs and exhibits throughout the day.
