SITE UPGRADES
The 32 sites under the fortress.uccb.ns.ca banner are under going changes to make them more user friendly as per the instructions of Bill O'Shea. Please submit any ideas which you think might help as well. Remember, most sites are very rich with content and consequently quite deep (like a pyramid with the home page at the top) which dictates what can be done. Drop down menus, where possible, have replaced navigational bars to reduce the clutter on a page.

NEW SERIES
		The
institute is looking for urban legend material. Check out "Peter
Harrison (1716-1775)" By John Fitzhugh Millar, May 1999 as an
example of how I see it should be set up. Any ideas on the proposed
        format?

NEW PAGE
I have placed "A Bibliography of the In-House Reports produced by the Fortress of Louisbourg, as of June 20, 2003" on the web in html format. This will allow anyone using our general search engine which is on each of our 32 webs to bring up this bibliography if it contains a search term they are looking for. As well, web crawlers like Google, MSN, etc. will now be able to index all the words of this bibliography, thus producing even more hits on our site. Usually it takes a about a month for a web crawler to do its job.
The page was placed because search engines, naturally, do not index the innards of most databases and a database is where this bibliography and many, many other related type records now reside.
Although the page is slow-loading [there is a warning], owing to its large size, I think it will be appreciated. The bibliography is abbreviated, and if a user wants to have a complete reference, they can go to the database [a link has been placed on the bibliography page].
