According to Maurepas to St. Ovide:

[SUMMARY OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT]

De Pensens gets 500" for residing at Isle St. Jean in addition to 300" as commandant of Port Toulouse. St. Ovide must compensate de Tonty for the expenses he incurred as commander last year (during the summer) of Isle St. Jean in de Pensens' absence .(418)

1728 - JUNE 20

According to Maurepas to de la Valliére:

[SUMMARY OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT]

Can't give him a gratification for the service rendered during de Pensens' absence from Port Toulouse. The King has decided to allow de Pensens to continue to enjoy it and is not disposed to double the expense. The Sr. du Chambon who de la Valiere cites as an example, does not get a gratification of 300". But, it is not attached to his post as in command of Port Dauphin, but is rather a continuation of an old gratification granted to his wife for interpreting for the Indians.

He has given orders to have the bill of exchange de la Valiere had from de Mezy acquitted. It was for 986"9s4d for 20 quintals of salt pork for the garrison at Port Toulouse on which he paid the advance. (419)

Il a fait expédier le congé au nommé Jacques Philipe de Roberge Despoix de Clermont qui était de la compagnie de M. de lavallière qui se trouva l'automne dernier au Port Toulouse.(422)
