According to Maurepas, writing to de la Tuillerie:

[PRÉCIS OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT]

Létat des dépens de l'Ile Royale de la présente année a été fixé ... Il aura aussi à retenir ce qu'il aura payé sur les appointements des officiers et sur les parties employées pour les missionaires et pour l'hôpital. (230)

1729 - JUNE 28

Articles and conditions accorded by the King in his council to M. Jean de la Coste, for the furnishings of vivres to crews in the King's vessels, as much at sea as in the ports, and to the marine hospitals, during 6 years, beginning January 1, 1730.

XXIV. Marine officers, sailors and soldiers, sick in the hospitals of the Marine, and others, will be treated there and fed under the conduits of these in charge; Sr. de la Coste must furnish them with the necessary alimens a detailed description is given of the alimens he must supply.

XXV. The infirmiers will be fed at the expense of Sr. de la Coste. The price for the rations of the aumôniers, chirurgiens, apoticaires, écrivains and others proposed by the intendants for the service of the sick, will be paid by the king, at the rate ruled for the ration of the sick.XXVI. Sr. de la Coste must, at his owns expense, provide food and wages for the clerks, cooks, etc., which he needs, for the furnishing of the hospitals; he is also responsible for the upkeep of the chaudieres and utensils and for furnishing la chandelle et l'huile, le bois et le charbon, blanchissage, etc.

XXVll. Sr. de la Coste must furnish, at his own expense, the necessary utensils for the distribution of vivres on the vessels and in the hospitals' a list is given. Those in the Magasins du Roy at Toulon and belonging to the king,will be delivered to Sr. de la Coste: the latter must pay the value to the king. The king will furnish the necessary cooking utensils: a list is given. Sr. de la Coste must see to the upkeep of the latter during the voyage, at his own expense, and deliver them in good condition to the écrivain du roy to be delivered to the Magasin de l'Arcenal ...(231)

Le Bâtiment de l'hopital est au au meme Estat que l'année passeé Attendu que l'Entrepreneur n'a pas encore receu d'Ardoises, il me fait Esperer que le Vaisseau du Roy et quelques Navires Marchands en Apporteront mais comme la Saison avance il ne Sera plus tems de travailler a cet ouvrages pour cette année (232)

Le Bastiment de lhôpital est dans le méme Estat que l'année passée le Sr. Ganet n'a receu par le vaisseau du Roy que cinquante milliers d'Ardoises qui ont esté Employes a la Batterie Royalle, Cependant il comptoit en recevoir par ce vaisseau et par dautre navires de Nantes la quantit[é] suffisante pour finir la couverture de ce Bastiment, comme le Sr Ganet n'a peu ven[ir?] a bout nonobstant toutes les mesures qu'il a pris pour faire venir ses Ardoises et plusieurs autres matereaux qui Sont absolument necessaire, Jay Estimé que S'estoit du bien dy Service qu'il passa en france pour y faire Ses affaires luy méme Je compte quil pourra S'en retourner par les premiers navires qui partiront de nantes ou de bayonne pour Louisbourg l'année prochaine ...
