Extract from the Register of Inscription of the Royal Magistracy of the Illinois, Province of Louisiana. Today the twentyninth day of April, seventeen forty-nine, appeared at the office of this magistracy, Nicolas Boyer, inhabitant of Kaskaskia, dwelling here in the parish of the Immaculate Conception, bearer of an act of donation made to him and to Dorothy Olivier, his wife, by Mr. Jean Olivier and Martha his wife ... Item, a house of joists [sic: obviously an incorrect translation] on sills ... Item, a barn of posts in the ground ...
