The following reels of the DesBarres Papers were examined before the planned research period
expired:
- Reel Two
(Series 5 (M23, F 1-5, Volume 6, Accounts, 1767-1794), PANS Reel
10221) was examined from folio 1131 to the end. Pages
1137-1182, 1183-1237 proved to be a gold mine and only extracts were
taken owing to time constraints. These pages should be again
re-examined.

that is, to where the Vermont section began.

RECOMMENDATIONS
- This
series holds numerous Sparrow and Fortress of Louisbourg references.
It also has many references to building supplies which would be of
interest to the Fortress. Based on 2004 research, it is recommended
that the Fortress purchase reels 1-3 for certain, and a
recommendation regarding reels 4-7 will be made when these are
examined at a later date.
