Name Claims on the Web. Fact or Myth?

      An unsupported assertion is
a secondary one made without a reference (i.e. a footnote to or a transcript of the original,
or a report containing same) that goes directly to a primary, contemporary source. Clearly, this secondary reference might have its
basis in a primary source, but when this is not readily apparent, the
resulting assertion may be fact or myth..
      To
find the location(s) of any assertion listed below,
search on the noted "phrase" [spelling mistakes, etc. included]
in your browser and check it out yourself. This seems to be a better
source locator than providing an actual link which come and go, to only
      frustrate the researcher.
      No
attempt has been made here to prove or disprove any of these name
statements as they are simply placed below when encountered. Because our site
holds a wealth of names in different formats (text files, databases,
scholarly historical and archaeological reports, etc.), and you may wish to conduct a research of your own,
      please begin by clicking here.
      Naturally,
any name proven to have been at Louisbourg will be removed from this list,
and if the evidence is provided, the name and source(s) will be placed on
a genealogical confirmed name page on this site.
