Extract of a Letter from New York, dated Nov. 19, 1733.
Last Week a large French Sloop arrived here from cape breton with a Captain, Lieutenant, and some other Officers of the Garrison of Lewisburgh, with a Letter from their Governor to his Excellency our Governor, desiring his Excellency to permit them to load Provisions for that Garrison, who are in great Necessity thereof, the Crops having fail'd last Summer in Canada, and the Ships from France not yet arrived; which Request (being an Act of Humanity) his Excellency by the Advice and Consent of Majesty's Council, has granted. --- 'Tis said they are starving.
