J'ai procure passage pour l'Isle Royale sur la flute La Gironde a un Religieux de la Charité que le Provincial envoye dans la Colonie. Vous aures agreable d'ordre son embarquement a la table du Capne et de faire recevoir a bord de cette flute quelques caisses de medicamens et de meubles que ce Religieux doit emporter pour les besoins de l'hopital de Louisbourg. ⁽⁴⁸⁷⁾

Advized, that whereas many breaches are made in the walls and buildings of the town and batteries of Louisbourg by our artillery, and the Circular Battery, which did very much command the harbour, is render'd intirely useless without repair, and as the summer is the only season that such works can be effected here, the walls, citadell, hospital, magazines, king's storehouses, and all other the king's buildings, also the batteries of the town, and the Grand and Island Batteries be repaired.⁽⁴⁸⁹⁾

Bigot wrote the following to Warren and Pepperrell:

[PRÉCIS OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENT]

Les PP de la chatité informèrent Bigot qu'on s'est emparé par leur ordre (Warren et Pepperrell) des meubles, ustanciles et effets de l'hôpital. Leur remettre les effets en question, sous peine de faire pourvoir la cour de France à celle d'Angleterre pour le remboursement.

Warren wrote to Bigot

... nous le gardons (les meubles et ustenciles de l'hôpital) ainsi qu tout ce qui en dépend pour l'usage des malades et blessés, ainsi qu'il est et doit être destiné usage ...⁽⁴⁹¹⁾

The Hospital Du Roy or Royal Hospital - which is twenty Rods long the wall about 2 feet thick, Built of Stone and Lime, two Storie High, a Great many Large Sash Windows with Iron Grates to Each of 'em there is 2 Large lower rooms for the Sick Well furnished with Beds and Curtains there is the Chambers over them which are for the same Use There's also a Great, Deal of Linning, As Also a great many Vessels of Pewter etc. In the Middle of S'd House is a Steeple and a good Bell hanging in the Same. At each End of the House, are Built a Larg Dwelling House. From which: is a wall Running towards the North - 13 Rods - and then another wall to Meet Each of these, Running East and West So that there is Included within the wall about an Acre of Land which is used for a Garden at Each corner of S'd wall (which is 12 feet high and 4 feet thick) is a Large Kitchen and Several Large Coopers for Cooking Brewing etc. and also two wells. the Gate that opens into it is arch'd over, and a Cross Standing upon the top there's 2-Good Sun Dials, etc .... and many other things but I shall mention no more ...
