The Hospital Du Roy or Royal Hospital - which is twenty Rods long the wall about 2 feet thick, Built of Stone and Lime, two Storie High, a Great many Large Sash Windows with Iron Grates to Each of 'em there is 2 Large lower rooms for the Sick Well furnished with Beds and Curtains there is the Chambers over them which are for the same Use There's also a Great, Deal of Linning, As Also a great many Vessels of Pewter etc. In the Middle of S'd House is a Steeple and a good Bell hanging in the Same. At each End of the House, are Built a Larg Dwelling House. From which: is a wall Running towards the North - 13 Rods - and then another wall to Meet Each of these, Running East and West So that there is Included within the wall about an Acre of Land which is used for a Garden at Each corner of S'd wall (which is 12 feet high and 4 feet thick) is a Large Kitchen and Several Large Coopers for Cooking Brewing etc. and also two wells. the Gate that opens into it is arch'd over, and a Cross Standing upon the top there's 2-Good Sun Dials, etc .... and many other things but I shall mention no more ...
